Kitten has been run over

Post by Planty » Fri Dec 03, 2010 9:27 am

I am absolutely heartbroken and I know some people will think it's just a cat but I loved my kitten so much and just can't get over it. I can't stop crying. We had two kittens and the little boy is the one that has been killed. The little girl keeps wandering around the house looking for him and meowing. It just seems so unfair - he was only 9 months old. He was so lovely and didn't deserve it. I don't expect replies and to be honest, nothing anyone says is going to make me feel any better. I guess I just needed to say it. I miss him so much.

You can rant here as much as you like, me darling. Loads of us have lost kittens or pups to traffic, or foxes. And we feel guilty because we think we should have been able to protect them.

It's so much worse when the sibling keeps looking for them - that's heartbreaking for you. But petal, soon enough the little girl will just get on with her life, and you will have to, too. Do your grieving, you're perfectly entitled to it. Nobody should try to tell you "it will get better", you know that already. Just grieve and rant a while, me dear. You'll move on when you're ready to.

I hope you're feeling okay.

Thank you. I know people must think I am barmy but I just can't seem to get over it. Had a bad day today where he just popped in my head whilst sat at work and I just cried and cried. Thankfully I'm not in an open plan office so got away with it...........

Izzy (Paddy's sister) did seem fine after a couple of days, but as I had decided she would be staying indoors from now on (I just can't risk it again) we thought she ought to have some company so she doesn't get bored when we are at work. My OH had 17 days off over christmas so we thought that would be the best time. To be honest it was too early for me to get another kitten really but the perfect time for us to settle a new one in. So, we now have Thomas, the new addition to our family. Turns out she's a girl though. She really is adorable and gets on very well with Izzy - they do fight but nothing too serious..........

I sit and cuddle them both and then cry over Paddy.................I know it will get better with time but it doesn't feel like it much at the moment.......

I hope you're feeling better about things now and I hope the new kitten has settled in okay.
It always takes a while to move on when you lose a pet. Hopefully you are feeling alot better now.
