Finding it hard to concieve

Postby Caramia » Fri Jan 13, 2012 1:03 pm

Hi all,

So my partner and I have been trying for a baby since June 2010. I was on the mini pill (micronor) and had been taking it for around 7 years. This meant that my periods were few and far between. Even before I went on the pill they were never that regular.

I didn't get a period until December and I was hoping that would mean I was either much more likely to get pregnant or at least have regular periods. So far I am 6 days late and not pregnant.

I know that I should just relax and when it'll happen, it'll happen... But that's much easier said than done! I've been excersising a lot lately to shift some weight and I've been told that that might affect my periods... I can't win!

Does anyone have any advice? I'm taking folic acid and eating well... I just feel a bit rubbish that I'm still not pregnant :-(

Thank you,
C x

To be honest your doctor can give you the best advice, or check out the NHS website advice on being healthy for conception. Having a good diet and a healthy steady weight, and not being stressed, are the main factors under your control I think.
