Travel Insurance and E111

Postby whoopsie » Mon Mar 02, 2009 11:09 am

I’m not sure if this is the right place to put this…

Me, my boyfriend and his daughter are going to Disney Land (Paris) on Sunday, and it has just occurred to us that we need to sort out Insurance etc. I’ve just bought an Insurance package, and went to get an E111 (which is now an EHIC or something) and that will cost us another £10. Does anyone know if we need this as well as travel insurance?

Yes you need it. Insurance kind of covers your belongings/cancellations/problems etc the E111 covers you - it's free hospital treatment and stuff with an E111 card, if you don't have it you will need to pay for treatment.
A hug is a great gift, one size fits all.

your insurance might cover healthcare too, but you'll have to pay the excess, and you might even have to pay for any treatment then get it reimbursed.

This is free and you get the form from the post office
even if you card is not sent through before you go on holiday it doesnt matter as long as you have sent away for it
eventhough you travel insurance covers health without a E111 you will not be treated in their hospitals
without a e111 hospitals will refuse treatments !
hope i helped
