Go to Glasgow at least once in your life and have a roll and square sliced sausage and a cup of tea. When you feel the tea coursing over your spice-singed tongue, you'll know what I mean when I say:

Re: Olympic Games
I wish the whole Olympic thing would just go away...
But the Opening Ceremony, with all the completely random British stuff, was brilliant fun! In years to come, I'll be able to tell my grand-children that the best bit of the whole epoch-making (fortnight? Blimey, it's going to be a long one!

Re: Olympic Games
I'll admit I did watch the opening ceremony where the Queen went in by parachute. It was on in the pub. Made me smile, but that's all I'm going to watch.
Cue everyone going on and ON about it on Facebook. "OMG I'm soooooo proud to be British!"
Boke. Bigger things have happened that we should be proud of.

Re: Olympic Games
And true to my word, I've had three different sports on three screens all day. I feel dirty, though not dirty enough to not watch Great Britain take on Montenegro at handball right now. Where's the "I need serious help" section of this page or the "I need something else in my life" section?

Re: Olympic Games
mattmxl, hun, calm down, there are some special friends on their way to take you to a lovely room.
When you get there, look in the left-hand corner for the button called "I need something else in my life", yes?
That button will bring you STRAIGHT back to PP...

How do I know this works...?

The answers to life's problems aren't at the bottom of a bottle, they're on PP! Haha, with a combination of Olympic handball!

Oh, thanks for the heads-up, mattmxl...
I just looked at the bottom of a bottle, and read "the answers are not here, check out the handball. Then check out PP"!
Who knew???

Re: Olympic Games
Hey, Matt you're right, but the subtitle said "the triumph of hope over experience".
Whatever that means.

Re: Olympic Games
I have been turned
I really liked the opening ceremony and have watched lots of events since.
Please don't hit me HLC
P.S I have enjoyed the banter created by this thread. It was worth having the olympics for that alone
