I originally sent this to the original poster because I am shy about posting answers x3 Anyway... Deciding to add my reply to the problem, incase it could possibley help anyone else ever thinking about beauty.
Hi there,
Thought I would post as I've had experience in makeup.
I agree with what others have said, If you are really interested in it, perhaps you would have wanted to experiment and improve more on your own already.
The beauty therapy NVQ course I did was (Which I must add - i hated it) mainly focused on skin, hair removal all over, eye lashing tinting as so on. From what i felt (this is why I left) there was hardly any makeup involved (If your determined to that, but hate the other stuff, I wouldn't recommend it). If you are talking about doing bridal looks, basic beauty/prom looks then this could be an idea but like everything, it takes practice. There a lot of great tutorials (as someone mentioned) and brilliant books out there, but that wont help unless you *actually* try it.
If your thinking of more in depth creative makeup I would suggest what I did, I went to London and did an intensive makeup course (AOFM). I was able to work with some really great artists, i got to assist in London fashion week and create some really unusual and striking stuff and - if i was closer to location, would have been able to do more shoots through them. This isn't a cheap option, and in my case had to be funded myself (since its not a college).
I think you need to think it over about what kind of 'makeup' you wish to do.
I'm not really sure if that helped at all!
Diego Rivera ~ I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.
